Why people make unethical design - Essay Example This paper looks at the opposite view of unethical conduct or behaviour in business with specific focus on gender inequality of remuneration between male and female executives in business organizations. The fact that there is inequality suggests unethical behaviour on the part the management of such organizations. There is enough evidence to suggest that there exists a gender gap with regard to pay among executives in the country. Other issues like promotion opportunities, lack of involvement in decision making etc also are seen. Another prominent fact is that the percentage of women executives in gets lower as the climb up the corporate ladder takes place. Another factor is that the compensation gap gets bigger with regard to the top managerial posts in an organization. Most of the information given in this section has been basically sourced from reputed magazines like Fortune or news sties like CNN. The Equal Pay Act of 1963 bars employers from compensation discrimination on the basis of sex. But this has not yet been implemented uniformly even after forty four years of its passing. The 2005 issue of Fortune magazine states that women are paid less than men across all job sectors and positions.
